This
page has photos of PENNRAIL. Primarily,
at least at the outset, this will be of previously unpublished photos taken on
the Penn State Model Railroad Club’s
fourth layout (1985-1997), which represented Pennrail’s Bald
Eagle Division (the ex-PRR Bald Eagle Branch) and Lock
Haven Division (a portion of the ex-NYC from Lock Haven to
Avis/McElhatten); and where Pennrail ran supreme. The club’s current layout, its fifth (or sixth if one counts the
modules from 98-01 as a layout), goes back to 1950s Pennsy with Digitrax DCC,
but they have retained the Pennrail equipment in the same operable condition (DC)
as in 1997, albeit in a wall-mounted display case.
As time goes on, and the McKeever version of the Bedford
Division begins to take shape, more photos of that will be added.
The teaser photo below is taken
at the Vail Industrial area on Layout #4 in the Spring or Summer of 1997.
Recently discovered was a photo page on the RITMRC’s site detailing a 2000 visit by Mark
Wurst and his PR executive train (led by SDP45-2F #800) (NOTE on 5-31-06 – The link appears dead on RITMRC’s redesign of
their site, which no longer has photos older than 2001)

Thanks to fellow PWMRC member Lynn K. for both the scheme and
the painting.
